Before joining the Partnership in May 2015 as Executive Director, Veronica served as Senior Program Officer for the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), where she worked with neighborhood residents and civic leaders at all levels in Richmond and Petersburg in designing, funding and implementing strategies that create communities of choice. In her private life Veronica considers her family and faith as her priorities, and music is her absolute favorite pastime.

Shanika McClelland has more than 20 years in communications, development, program design and family engagement. In her most recent role as Shanika helped launch the Richmond office of a “faith-based/character-based” auto loan program, ensuring that families could get to work, training and other community events while building credit and career skills. Shanika obtained her Masters of Arts Degree in Corporate Communications at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN and her Bachelors of Science Degree in Telecommunications from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She has a 13-year-old son named Markus who supports her “all things are possible” attitude.

Heather Parrish joined the Partnership as Director of Development in January, 2015. Prior to joining the Partnership, Heather worked with World Pediatric Project (WPP), an organization which provides life-saving surgeries for children in third world countries. Before that, she worked for 8 years with Gateway Homes, which helps adults with mental illness return to school, work and independent living. Heather also taught elementary school for 15 years. Heather graduated from Virginia Tech with a BA in Elementary Education, and serves on the board of directors of Godwin High School Athletic Association.

Kim Glessman joined the Partnership for Families as Family Navigator in August, 2017. Prior to joining the Partnership, Kim managed the Healthy Beginnings program at Bon Secours Richmond Community Hospital for 7 years, supporting families around the time of pregnancy in an effort to reduce infant mortality. Kim brings over 20 year of experience in working with families with young including teaching with Head Start and work in the Northside with the Partnership as a community partner serving as the Supervisor for Family Lifeline’s Healthy Families Program. Kim is glad to be back working directly for the Partnership and the families we serve.

Angela brings over 10 years of experience as a receptionist for nonprofit organizations to the Partnership for Families. Prior to joining the Partnership, Angela worked at Senior Connections through their Title V Intern Program as an Employment Specialist, where she assisted her 55-and-older clients in their search for employment. Even before joining the team, Angela was very familiar with the Partnership. In her work at Senior Connections, Angela often referred her clients to the computer classes offered by The Partnership and conducted by our partner, Goodwill.
